Apple Orchard School, part of the Polaris Education group, is a specialised independent provision dedicated to supporting adolescent males aged 12 to 18 who have exhibited harmful sexual behaviour.
Located in Slinfold, Horsham, West Sussex, the school provides a therapeutic environment combined with tailored education to address the complex needs of its students.

Educational Excellence
The school offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to promote rapid improvements in literacy and numeracy, especially focusing on reading skills. This approach has led to outstanding student achievement, with many making significant progress from their initial entry levels. The quality of teaching and curriculum has been recognised as outstanding in previous Ofsted inspections.
Therapeutic Support
Central to Apple Orchard’s approach is the “Good Lives Model,” a strength-based therapeutic framework aimed at helping young people develop the skills and insights necessary for positive personal development. A variety of therapeutic methodologies are employed, including individual and group therapy, all tailored to meet the specific needs of each student.
Residential Care
Apple Orchard operates four homes in Surrey and Sussex, providing a nurturing and structured environment. Orchard House, serving as the company’s head office, accommodates up to nine young people and includes a purpose-built school on-site. The home features communal lounges, dining areas, therapy rooms, and extensive outdoor spaces such as a large garden and basketball court.
Ofsted Recognition
The school’s commitment to high standards is reflected in its Ofsted ratings. In the most recent inspection in November 2022, Apple Orchard School received a ‘Good’ rating, with previous inspections highlighting outstanding aspects of the school’s provision.
